According to John Hannah, the data at Dunedin is of very poor quality with many small inconsistencies in the tide gauge zero. Subsidence is occuring in the whole wharf area. Subsidence at the gauge is now 1mm/yr.

This station was previously flagged probably due to John Hannah's comments. However, after consideration it was decided to remove the station flag.

A revised copy of the New Zealand data values for station Dunedin II has been received from the data supplier the Land Information New Zealand (LINZ). The revised dataset begins in 2000. This exercise has been carried out to correct some anomalies with the high frequency data.
